29th October 2005 was the date for the Love Ulster Rally in Woodvale Park organised by the Shankill Mirror and Love Ulster.com organisation.
The parade began in the car park of the Shankill Leisure centre and walked the length of the Shankill road into the woodvale park.
The parade passed the Memorial Garden on the Shankill Road and the band, in memory dropped their flags and made an eyes ‘left’ as we passed.
The flags were then erected and the parade made its way up the Shankill road towards the Woodvale Park. Once in the Park the band dispersed to hear speeches from different speakers including Thomas McDonald Senior from the Whitewell Defenders and Linda Barr from the WRUC- Women Raising Unionist Concerns.
There were 15 bands in attendance including, Drumderg Young Loyalists, Cloughfern Young Conquerors, Shankill Protestant Boys and Mourne Defenders whom led the Rally and also finished the rally with ‘God Save the Queen.’
The band played well and where proud to walk. This was our last parade, so keep and eye out for us next season.
