Brilliant weather for a parade again. We arrived early enough but with so many bands attending this parade it took ages to get started. Once we got going the band played well. Coming onto the Shankill road sent shivers up our spines with the crowd cheering us on. We played well outside the Rex and played well the hole way up the Shankill road. The usual good spots was the Rangers and the Northern Ireland clubs. With crowds cheering the bands on. All in all a good day. A new mural was also revealed for Vol. Brian Robinson. Alot of starting and stopping but a brilliant parade.

It started in good spirits and the band played well the hole way round the route. Some bands took a different route than ours. Everyone knew that there was going to be trouble at the Whiterock. But what happened to our band at this parade we will never forget. We got to a police line on the west circular road as a flute band....not rioters. We let of a wee cheer (who doesnt) and then it happend. The PSNI put the water cannons on our band. To me this is a disgrace. Not one of our members threw anything or gave abuse.(obviousley - we were playing a tune). The ironic thing about it was we were playing the sash. When it came to the parade it was good, but when it came to the PSNI, it was provocation. We would like to thank the Pride Of Ardoyne Flute Band for their support at the west circuler road. And especially the bass drummer who joined in with our band.
